DESCRIPTION:Discover the art of woodturning in this exciting three-day class! Using a lathe\, you’ll transform a solid block of wood into a beautifully crafted wooden bowl that’s both functional and artistic. Whether displayed on its own or paired with your handcrafted cutting board\, each finished bowl highlights the natural character of the wood — and no two are ever alike. \nWith guidance from experienced instructors\, participants will build confidence working on the lathe while developing skills that extend well beyond this project. \nClass Details\n• Dates: Tuesday\, April 28 – Friday\, May 1\n• Time: 5-8:30 PM (each day)\n• Location: Wood Craft Center (610 N. Depot Ave)\n• Cost: $85 – Materials included \nWho Can Participate\n• Open to all DoD ID card holders ages 18 and older \nRequirements\n• Completion of the Wood Craft Center qualification course — Cutting Board Class and Intro to Fine Woodworking — is required prior to enrollment \nWhat You’ll Learn\n• Woodturning techniques for shaping and finishing bowls on a lathe\n• Safe and effective use of woodturning tools\n• Foundational skills that can be applied to future turning projects \nWhy You’ll Love It\n• Every bowl is completely unique\, showcasing natural grain and craftsmanship\n• Creates a functional kitchen piece or a thoughtful handmade gift\n• Builds on your woodworking foundation and opens the door to advanced projects \nBowl-turning videos may be mesmerizing to watch — but creating your own is even more rewarding.
