You’ll learn how to transform rough lumber into a one-of-a-kind cutting board that’s both practical and beautiful. Whether you’re creating something for your own kitchen or crafting a thoughtful handmade gift\, this project blends function with craftsmanship in the best way. \nLed by experienced staff\, this class introduces foundational woodworking techniques you can apply to many future projects. \nClass Details\n• Dates & Times:\n– Saturday\, April 4 | 10 AM–5 PM\n– Tuesday\, April 7 | Time will be determined during Saturday’s class\n• Location: Wood Craft Center (610 N. Depot Ave\, behind Arts & Crafts)\n• Cost: $70 – Materials included \nWho Can Participate\n• Open to all DoD ID card holders ages 18 and older \nQualification Course\nThis class is Part 1 of 2 in the Wood Craft Center qualification program.\nThe second required class is Intro to Fine Woodworking. Once both classes are completed\, participants are qualified to use the Wood Craft Center equipment independently. \nWhat You’ll Learn\n• How to mill rough lumber into flat\, square\, usable boards\n• Proper gluing\, shaping\, and finishing techniques\n• Core woodworking fundamentals applicable to future projects \nWhy You’ll Love It\n• Every cutting board is completely unique\n• Finished boards are durable\, functional\, and built to last\n• Handmade cutting boards make exceptional gifts and heirloom-quality keepsakes \nRegistration Information\nRegister in person at the Wood Craft Center or call 509-247-5189.\nPayment is due at the time of registration.
