<h2>2024 America's Armed Forces Kids Run</h2>Join us for the 2024 America's Armed Forces Kids Run, a celebration of our nation's youngest heroes, proudly initiated right here in Spokane. All are invited to join the world's largest children's running event. Let's come together, rejoice, and make memories! Over the years, 120,000 young runners have earned their own commemorative tee shirts by completing this annual spring run. Recognized nationally by esteemed publications such as National Geographic World, Runner's World, and USA Today, it was voted Best Children's Run by Runner's World in May 2003.<h4>Event Details:</h4>Date: May 18 Location: Warrior Park Start Time: First run kicks off at 2:30 PM Price/Registration: FREE! Just show up! Distances: Take your pick from 1/2 mile, 1 mile, and 2 mile heats. T-shirt: Snag your FREE Kid's Run T-Shirt, available while supplies last. The T-Shirt tent opens at 2 PM, so don't miss out!Please note: This is a fun run and does not include awards of any kind. Originally known as Junior Bloomsday in 1986, this event was conceived as a more manageable alternative to the challenging 7.46-mile Bloomsday run. After 16 years of success, it evolved into America’s Kids Run to encompass its growing national and international reach, serving military dependents across the USA, as well as in Bahrain, Greece, Puerto Rico, Germany, Japan, Iceland, England, and Italy. Join us in honoring our young champions and making this year's run the best one yet &nbsp;

<h2>Give Parents A Break (GPAB)</h2>&nbsp;GPAB 2024 Dates: (Quarterly on Fridays) • July 19&nbsp; • October 18 (upcoming)Location: Child Development Center (B2500) and the School Age Care program (B2310)Time: 6:30 - 10:30 pmCost: FREE childcare for qualified parents onlyDescription: GPAB is an Air Force Aid Society funded program specially designed for families in need of a break. Active Duty Air Force members must have a valid voucher signed by a First Sergeant, the Military &amp; Family Readiness Center, or other qualified base agency. Subsequent vouchers must be completed by the Military &amp; Family Readiness Center.Registration: • Registration for GPAB must be completed the Wednesday prior to the event date. • For a family to apply for GPAB child care, it's an easy, 3-step process:Step 1: Do you qualify with at least ONE of the following circumstances: • &nbsp;A family crisis • &nbsp;Child with special needs (must coordinate with CDC and SAC well in advance) • &nbsp;Unique hardships • &nbsp;Military member: deployed, extended TDY, or remoteStep 2: Contact one of following to obtain a SIGNED Referral Certificate for Give Parents a Break: • &nbsp;Command: Unit Commander, First Sgt • &nbsp;Community Support Team: Chaplain, Medical Provider, Family Advocacy, Military &amp; Family Readiness Center, Child Development Center Director or School Age Care Director &nbsp; • &nbsp;Subsequent vouchers must be obtained at the Military &amp; Family Readiness CenterStep 3: Make sure to SUBMIT the signed Referral Certificate (from step 2) and your child's Immunization records to the School Age Care or Child Development Center and fill out a GPAB Registration Packet.
