Donut Dash 5K – A Sweet Tradition with Military Roots

June 12 @ 8:00 am - 9:00 am

Celebrate National Donut Day with a fun, free walk/run that brings together community, fitness, and a unique piece of American history.

The Donut Dash isn’t just about the miles—it’s about the meaning behind the treat. During World War I, volunteers known as the “Donut Lassies” served fresh donuts to U.S. soldiers in France, boosting morale and bringing a taste of home to the front lines. Today, we continue that tradition—one lap (and donut) at a time.

Why Donuts?
National Donut Day was established in 1938 by The Salvation Army to honor the volunteers who served donuts to soldiers during WWI. These small acts of kindness became a powerful symbol of comfort, connection, and morale—something we’re proud to celebrate today.
