What is Children’s Book Week?
Since 1919, this annual celebration has inspired kids and teens to explore the magic of books. Organized by the non-profit Every Child a Reader, this year’s theme—”An Ocean of Stories”—honors the vast world of tales we read, share, and tell.
Activities:
📖 Bookmark Contest: Design your own bookmark! Entry forms will be available and accepted at the Library from May 5-10. At least 10 winning designs will be printed for library visitors.
🎨 Drop-in Activities: Visit anytime May 5-10 to see what creative surprises await!
📚 Storytime: Join us for Storytime on Wednesday, May 7, at 10:30 AM—perfect for little book lovers!
👍 LEGO Build Day: Drop in on Saturday, May 10, to build with our LEGO collection—kids and adults welcome! If you’d like, submit your creation for display in the Library. Visitors can vote for their favorites throughout May, and People’s Choice Award winners will be announced on May 30.
