BAND SAW BOX CLASS
The Band Saw Box Class is a 4-day, 3-hour session held at the Wood Craft Center, focusing on the creation of handcrafted wooden boxes using only a Band Saw and a single piece of solid or laminated wood. Each box design can range from simple to highly complex, catering to individual skill levels and preferences, while ensuring all creations are beautiful.
Date and Time:
Tuesday to Friday, July 23-26
Class runs from 5 PM to 8 PM each day
Location:
The Wood Craft Center (610 N. Depot Ave)
Participants: Ages 14+ with base access
* Fairchild AFB youth ages 14-17 years old may take the course but MUST be accompanied by a guardian for the duration of the class. (Guardians don't have to register unless they want to learn alongside the child).
Cost:
The class costs $75 and materials are included in the fee
Requirements:
No prior classes or experience required
Course Description:
* In the Band Saw Box Making Class, students will delve into woodworking fundamentals over 4 days to create their one-of-a-kind bandsaw box. The complexity of design is tailored to each student's skill level with the band saw.
* Utilize small pieces of scrap wood to unleash creativity in crafting the size and shape of the box and more. The resulting small and unique boxes are perfect for storing small trinkets.
* Learn about the Band Saw's versatility, from ripping to pattern cutting, and its efficiency in minimizing waste and energy consumption.
Note:
* Register in person at the Wood Craft Center or by calling 509-247-5189. Payment is due at the time of sign-up. Max class size 4.
* All participants must follow established safety protocols.
