Immerse your child in the joy of fishing! It's a wonderful experience for youngsters, introducing them to the thrill of holding a fishing pole and reeling in their first catch. No prior fishing experience necessary—bring your kids to this incredible opportunity where they can learn the art of fishing and receive a commemorative shirt and gear. The lake has just been stocked, teeming with thousands of eager fish waiting to be caught. Don't delay—secure your spot early, as this event promises unforgettable memories for your kids!
For just $10, your child will have the chance to have experts guide them in catching up to 3 fish, whether on the shore or the docks of Clear Lake.

Event Details:

Date: Saturday, May 11, 2024
Time: 8 am - 2:45 pm (45-minute time slots assigned on a first-come, first-served basis; kids should arrive 30 minutes early for check-in)
Location: FAFB Clear Lake Recreation Area (South 14824 Clear Lake Rd, Cheney, WA 99004)
Who: Open to ages 5-14 (both on and off-base families welcome)
Organized by: The Inland Northwest Wildlife Council and the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife

What to Expect:

Kids are guaranteed to catch at least 1 fish, with a maximum of 3.
Expert assistance provided for children during fishing.
No catch and release; fish can be donated on-site to the food bank or kept.
Optional fish cleaning station available for convenience.
Cost: $10 per child, includes T-shirt and other gear, along with the opportunity to catch up to 3 fish (no refunds).

Signup: Physical registration forms available at Outdoor Rec or can be printed off at registration link (https://wdfw.wa.gov/sites/default/files/fishing/youth/2024/2024-clear-lake-kids-fishing-event-registration-form.pdf). Registration must be postmarked (mailed to Kids Fishing/WDFW) by April 26.
(One form per family) Limited to the first 950 signups, so act fast!

Food Options:

Breakfast Menu (6-10am) All menu items include your choice of coffee, orange juice, apple juice, or hot chocolate.
#1 bacon, eggs & toast     $10
#2 2 pancakes, bacon & eggs      $10
#3 2 pancakes w/ strawberries and whip, bacon     $10
#4 Maple infused turkey sausage and pancake on a stick   $3
#5 assorted cereal or oatmeal & toast     $7 
 

Lunch Menu (10am - 2pm)  Enjoy a BBQ lunch (burger or hot dog with chips and a drink) just $9.
