Summer Reading Program 2024 "Read, Renew, Repeat"

Embark on a literary adventure this summer with the Department of Defense (DoD) MWR's innovative theme, “Read, Renew, Repeat.” Our libraries are focused on promoting the crucial concept of conservation in 2024 along with our ongoing commitment to supporting lifelong learning and educational enrichment for all families.

This summer, everyone can set a reading goal and collect rewards and earn prizes for reading anything they enjoy. Throughout the summer, the Fairchild Library will host a range of free activities for children, teens, and adults that encourage and support a love of reading. Join us in our mission to reach new heights this summer! Last year, our readers logged an impressive 477,000 minutes. Let's aim even higher and collectively strive for 500,000 minutes in 2024! Here's what you need to know:

When: Now - August 17 (events on select dates)
Where: Fairchild Library, 2 W Castle St
Who: Open to all ages with Base Access
Cost: FREE

Registration is a breeze:
1. Visit https://fairchildafblibrary.beanstack.org/reader365 or drop by the library to register as an individual or family. Paper logs will be available at the Library for those who prefer.
2. Log your reading minutes.
3. Earn Rewards: Top readers per age group will receive gift cards and anyone who has earned at least one reading log badge will be eligible for random drawings.

Summer Reading isn't just about hitting milestones; it's about embarking on a journey of self-discovery and growth. Regardless of age, everyone can set personal reading goals and reap the rewards of literary exploration. Research underscores the importance of summer reading, showing its efficacy in preventing learning loss and enhancing academic performance.
